What Are Fritters?
For those who don't know what fritters are, well let us tell you what they are. They are a snack made with one main ingredient called chickpea flour or gram flour. The flour is mixed with water to make a thick paste and then it is deep fried. The final product is called a Fritter or a Pakora in Urdu/Hindi.
What Other Ingredients Can Be Added To Fritters?
There are tons of ingredients that you can add to fritters to enhance or change their flavor. Fritters can be made both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Commonly added ingredients are; chopped onions, potato cubes, chicken cubes, beef cubes or shredded, carrots, capsicum, tomatoes, boiled lentils in small quantities, coriander, mint leaves, turmeric powder, cumin seeds or powder, chili powder etc. Let us know an ingredient that is not here but you often add in your fritters recipe.
How To Preserve Fritters Or Pakoras?
Well, it is best to consume fritters fresh off the wok as they are the crispiest then. You can refrigerate fritters but they will lose their crispiness. Reheat in microwave or deep fry them for a minute on medium heat. Always check for signs of spoilage before consuming any leftovers.
Hi! Thanks for the recipe share. I have made these chicken fritters quite a few times now. Though I always swap coriander seeds for cumin seeds. I like them better that way.
